The Shine team was tasked by Taffy Brodesser-Akner and FX with a design exploration for the main title logo for Fleishman Is In Trouble. Taffy Brodesser-Akner was both the author of the The New York Times bestseller as well as the Creator, Showrunner and Executive Producer for the series for FX and ABC. In the end, the best solution ended up being a close adaptation of the typography on the book cover design.
As and additional part of the assignment, Shine designed Taffy Brodesser-Akner’s production logo, Akner Corp. By evoking the classic 1980s era broadcast graphics like The Sunday Night Movie and others, the Akner Corp. logo was designed to evoke the feel of old-school animation stand typographic animation.
