Shine designed and produced a photographic main title sequence for Starz’ new series, “BMF”. Photography of the real Flenory family was integrated with other graphic imagery to set up the story. BMF follows the story of two brothers who created the Black Mafia Family, the most prominent drug distribution network in American history.

The Black Mafia Family was founded in 1989 in Detroit by brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, and by 2000 had established cocaine distribution sales throughout the United States through their Los Angeles–based drug source and direct links to Mexican drug cartels. The Black Mafia Family operated from two main hubs: one in Atlanta for distribution run by Demetrius Flenory and one in Los Angeles to handle incoming shipments from Mexico run by Terry Flenory.

Black Mafia Family

"BMF" is a drama series that chronicles the rise of two brothers, Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory and Terry Flenory, who build a powerful drug trafficking empire in Detroit during the 1980s. Inspired by true events, the series explores their journey from modest beginnings to becoming major players in the drug trade. As they amass wealth and influence, they also navigate the complexities of family loyalty, law enforcement pressures, and violent rivalries. "BMF" delves into the brothers' contrasting personalities and visions, highlighting their ambition, resilience, and the inevitable consequences of their criminal pursuits.

Terry & Meech

The Flenory brothers, Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory and Terry "Southwest T" Flenory, are central figures in the series. Emerging from Detroit in the 1980s, they built a formidable drug trafficking empire. Big Meech is known for his charisma, visionary leadership, and flamboyant lifestyle, embodying the face of their expanding operation. In contrast, Terry is more pragmatic and cautious, focusing on the logistics and business side of their empire. Together, they balance ambition and strategy, navigating the perilous drug trade while maintaining a deep familial bond, ultimately shaping their legacy in both crime and culture.
