feature film main title sequence

Shine designed and animated a main title for “The Vow.” The neon Music Box theater sign was created and modeled entirely in 3D. Each credit was animated to suggest the idea of disappearing memories. This was the second sequence that Shine has created for director Michael Sucsy.

Shine also revealed the titles by integrating the type and animation over the opening scene.

The Vow is a romantic drama film directed by Michael Sucsy, starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum. The film is inspired by the true story of Kim and Krickitt Carpenter. The Vow was a box office success, becoming the seventh highest-grossing romantic drama film of all time.
In the story, Paige Collins (Rachel McAdams) and her husband Leo (Channing Tatum) come out of a movie theater. On their way home, at a stop sign, Paige unbuckles her seatbelt to lean over and kiss Leo. At that very moment, a truck rams their car from behind and Paige crashes through the windshield. Both of them are rushed to the emergency room, and as Leo, in a voice-over talks about how “moments of impact help in finding who we are” the movie cuts to how Paige and Leo first met.
When Paige regains consciousness, she thinks Leo is her doctor, having lost all memories of the past few years.
