KCRW interview
Thank you to Matt Holzman at KCRW for the interview on The Business! ...
We wish everyone health and safety! We’re both open and observing social distancing, by working remotely. The team at Shine is very used to working this way as a matter of course. Below are a couple of recent projects where major portions of design, animation and production were done remotely.
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn for Warner Bros. and DC: Pitch storyboards designed while in Frankfurt Germany, extensive After Effects animation and illustration executed in Austin, cel animation in Georgia, more After Effects and Cinema 4D in Los Angeles, editorial in Venice… This was a project that truly stretched across the United States and beyond. It’s incredible what technology allows creative collaborators to do. Not an ounce of camaraderie was lost as a result of physical distance. We had a ton of fun working this way.
Dickinson for Apple: Here’s another example where extensive off site production was a creative choice that proved to be a successful method for creative collaboration. Boards were designed in Los Angeles but the animation was executed in Brooklyn. Once again, we all had a great experience collaborating remotely.
Again, the team at Shine wishes everyone health and safety!
